Vanessa:

Hey Sunny.

Sunny:

Yeah, Vanessa.

Vanessa:

What do you call two best friends that love music festivals?

Sunny:

Hmm, I guess you'd call them Festies.

Clark:

Music, Festivals, Friendship, Festies.

Sunny:

Take two.

Clark:

It's okay. There wasn't even a take one because we weren't recording yet I still. I had only gotten the room, I was still literally in the middle of doing it. I will be so explicit. I will tell you Don't worry

Vanessa:

Jesus

Sunny:

Anyway.

Clark:

What episode is this? We're not rolling. It's so funny.

Sunny:

What did you do last?

Vanessa:

We need a three two

Clark:

We need a five

Vanessa:

Hold up.

Clark:

Four.

Sunny:

That was so extra,

Vanessa:

I wish everyone could see that.

Clark:

That's Wayne's World. They do that when they get the big production team. Okay, valkyries.

Sunny:

What did you do last night, Vanessa?

Vanessa:

I went to my first Valkyries, and actually that was the first time I ever went to Chase Center too,

Sunny:

Really?

Sunny:

Yeah, isn't it so nice?

Vanessa:

It's so nice,

Sunny:

oh, pepper Potts.

Clark:

You're fine boo-boo.

Vanessa:

I don't know what I was expecting, but it was sold out.

Sunny:

Yeah,

Vanessa:

I was like I love this. I love women's sports, women's basketball.

Clark:

Yeah, we've been seeing on the local news every time they've had a game that it's just been sold out.

Vanessa:

And then you know those little steps that they have there outside the entrance. Do people just sit there and watch it from the big screen outside?

Sunny:

Clark and I have been trying to do that for a few years now,

Vanessa:

but they do

Sunny:

yes. We've tried to go to like that grass area and sit and watch the game from outside. Never happened, for some reason.

Vanessa:

Yeah, Cause we walked up, there was people sitting up there and I was like what are they doing there? Cause I couldn't see the screen yet

Sunny:

Smoking weed?

Vanessa:

Yeah. What are they waiting for?

Sunny:

I know we should go and do that Bring a blanket, yeah.

Vanessa:

And they have all these food trucks. I came home early from work and so did ed and he was like I'm hungry so we ate at Rise.

Sunny:

Where's my dinner?

Vanessa:

No,

Sunny:

I'm just kidding,

Clark:

you're my fiance now, where's my dinner?

Vanessa:

Yeah, Anyway, so okay. So we went to Rise and we ate pizza and then, because we took the train there, so it's right at the train station. But then we got there and we were walking towards and there's all these food trucks right by chase center. I was like fuck, we should eat here. So it's nice, we should do that. We should go just eat at the food trucks one day and watch the game from the outside, because tickets are so freaking expensive. They're like 150 bucks for nosebleeds. I got these tickets Shout out to my friend, dre, old coworker. She has season tickets and so she was always posting them.

Vanessa:

And so.

Vanessa:

I got home from work early and she was like does anybody want to go to these games? I was like me, yeah,

Sunny:

pick me, pick me.

Vanessa:

That was nice. The game was so fun. It was so close. They lost by like two, three points and they were so energetic. The crowd like roaring in there, you could have sworn it was a fucking NBA game.

Clark:

I love that.

Vanessa:

Yeah, me too. And even when they lost, right at the end of the game, fucking standing ovation it was so loud I was like Jesus, I love this.

Clark:

I wonder, is it like the same?

Clark:

It's got to be like a different dance team and stuff right or like what. Do you think the people that do the hype up stuff

Vanessa:

where the boys in all their little booty shorts?

Clark:

yo objectify the men.

Vanessa:

I wanna go again.

Sunny:

Anyone else, season tickets,

Vanessa:

hit us up okay,

Vanessa:

bringing it back to music festivals.

Sunny:

This episode is going to be about mill valley music festival, which you may remember that we talked about going to that festival back in may

Vanessa:

yeah, it was mother's day weekend,

Sunny:

yeah

Clark:

and we got to interview one of the co-founders.

Sunny:

Yeah, our first legit interview with Jim.

Vanessa:

That was awesome.

Sunny:

Yeah, and then we got to meet him in real life at the festival.

Vanessa:

Yeah, it was cool. He's such a great guy

Sunny:

. Yeah, oh, my mom went with us, so got to still celebrate Mother's Day with her, and she helped us stay at a hotel a little down the road shout out to the holiday inn

Vanessa:

which was so close.

Vanessa:

They had the little bike path you could take all the way there.

Sunny:

Yeah, that was so cute.

Vanessa:

That was fun.

Sunny:

Vanessa and ed brought their scooters on sunday and they they rode from the hotel to the

Vanessa:

I think that was the first time we used them

Sunny:

wait, where did you put them?

Sunny:

at the festival

Vanessa:

they have the bike valet. They really, really encourage people to ride their bike or take ubers or whatever public transportation you know. So they have a whole like bike valet section in one of the parking lots there.

Sunny:

Oh, that's cool.

Vanessa:

Yeah, we just valeted them

Sunny:

do you guys take scooters?

Vanessa:

yeah,

Sunny:

the venue for mill valley music festival is big rec center and I just remember walking through and immediately thinking the grass is so bright.

Vanessa:

It was gorgeous it was like freshly cut.

Sunny:

Yeah,

Vanessa:

like,

Sunny:

yeah,

Vanessa:

it looked fake

Sunny:

yeah, it was beautiful

Sunny:

the band that was playing when we walked in

Vanessa:

marin school of the arts rock of the arts rock

Vanessa:

Did I read that

Clark:

Marin School of the Arts.

Sunny:

Marin School of the Arts.

Vanessa:

Yeah, rock, I'm just kidding.

Clark:

No.

Sunny:

School of Rock.

Clark:

I think it's just the Marin School of Arts.

Sunny:

They were covering a Joni Mitchell song called Help Me that I also play. So yeah, clark was like hurry up and get in here, and they sounded so good.

Vanessa:

Marin School of the Arts Rock Band. I forgot to write band.

Clark:

Rock Band Marin School of the Arts Rock Band.

Sunny:

Oh, that's good.

Clark:

It was so fun to see young musicians really like getting their chops.

Vanessa:

It was so cute because they're obviously so young. It was so funny to hear them talk to the crowd. I mean, they did great.

Clark:

Yeah,

Vanessa:

they played Forget you. That was the last song they played.

Clark:

Oh, yeah, yeah

Vanessa:

and she was like but we'll never forget you. That's just the name of the song,

Clark:

that's cute.

Vanessa:

It was so cute.

Sunny:

That's what's really special about the Mill Valley Music Festival. One of the aspects is they're really giving young artists a chance to

Vanessa:

Flourish.

Sunny:

To flourish yeah, that's a good word. After that, I just remember we went to go find a spot with our blanket. We were listening to Ghost Note.

Vanessa:

Ghost Note was super high energy.

Sunny:

Yeah,

Vanessa:

they were like in your face.

Sunny:

They were getting the people going.

Clark:

Yeah.

Vanessa:

Yeah, they really were.

Clark:

They had that lead singer that was doing very James Brown-esque stuff, kind of pushing at the crowd almost. That's fun to have that at the beginning of a festival, because it's like, hey, you awake, right, hey, hey.

Vanessa:

I love how the stages didn't overlap. I remember being like you just can sit in the middle and just like turn your head.

Vanessa:

Main stage, now the Sweetwater stage. Yeah, main stage.

Vanessa:

Turn your head. Sweetwater stage. After Ghost Note, I went over to Meels because that's who I really wanted to see.

Sunny:

How was Meels?

Vanessa:

I could only be there for a little bit, for a couple hours, because it was Mexican Mother's Day, but I was like I need to go see Meels and then when she's done I can leave. So I did see Meels. She was great and she's actually. I just realized she's opening for Molly Tuttle and her tour that's coming up

Sunny:

Dope.

Vanessa:

Yeah.

Vanessa:

We saw Molly Tuttle at Bonnaroo in 2022. And you just said that Molly Tuttle is also from the Bay Area.

Sunny:

Yeah, she is,

Vanessa:

and Meels is from Mill Valley.

Sunny:

Yeah, meels was our Rising Festie on our Instagram. So the growth that she's had since the Mill Valley Music Festival, that's really inspiring to see.

Vanessa:

Yeah,

Clark:

it really feels like the ball has really started rolling.

Vanessa:

It was because of us.

Sunny:

You're welcome.

Clark:

We helped push that ball,

Vanessa:

no idea what she had going on before that.

Sunny:

Okay Meels, and then you took off after that?

Vanessa:

I actually did get to hear Jim introduce Vieux Farka Toré,

Clark:

uh-huh,

Vanessa:

and think I'd stayed for like maybe one or two songs

Sunny:

yeah.

Clark:

It was cool seeing him at the festival because in our interview with Jim, jim was like oh yeah, on my honeymoon I went out into the desert with my wife and we went to this show. That was Vieux Farka toré's father, who's also a guitar player and singer, and he mentioned that.

Vanessa:

I heard him introduce him and tell that story again when was what country or where was?

Vanessa:

it?

Clark:

Oh, I can't remember

Vanessa:

Was it Mala or.

Clark:

I can't remember where they went to

Sunny:

it was really far away.

Sunny:

I don't know.

Clark:

Um.

Clark:

Mali.

Clark:

I'm just kidding

Sunny:

Malta.

Vanessa:

Mali. It is Mali, m-a-l-i

Sunny:

Were you serious?

Clark:

Yeah, no, you he was incredible, like incredible guitar player, unique stuff I don't think we would normally listen to. Especially as time goes on. We like go back and look at videos of festivals and stuff. I had some really cool videos of some of the puppets that were out and about during his set and there was this big stork crane one. It was like flowing in the wind. And then like Viu Farkatori is playing in the background, like that matches so well, this is so cool, this whole vibe going on.

Sunny:

Yeah, it seemed like Jim was a little unsure of how the puppets would play out, and I think they hit perfect.

Clark:

Yeah, it really had this magic to it, seeing Vieux Farka tore and like one of those huge puppets.

Sunny:

Yeah.

Clark:

Was really whimsical

Sunny:

I feel that

Clark:

Yer.

Clark:

Okay.

Clark:

So then Vanessa left.

Sunny:

Bye Vanessa,

Clark:

she left us.

Vanessa:

Adios.

Clark:

For a good reason To go hang out with her man

Vanessa:

To see my mommy.

Clark:

We kind of were just sticking at the main stage for the last two performances on Saturday which were the Crosby Collective. They were doing a ton of really fun mashups and covers of songs. They started riders on the storm like they started playing that right and they're playing the groove from it and then all of a sudden one of their singers starts singing the lyrics to Billie Jean. On top of that they're kind of warping the groove for it into that. Yeah, so they were constantly doing stuff like that and the band was incredible. I mean, that's like the whole idea. It's like collective of high-level musicians.

Sunny:

They did Paul McCartney's band on the run and I can't remember for the life of me what they mixed it with, but it was pretty cool.

Clark:

Yeah, all the stuff they were doing was incredible.

Sunny:

I don't think I've ever heard that song live anywhere other than Paul.

Clark:

Paul doing it yeah.

Sunny:

So that was really fun.

Clark:

That's true

Sunny:

, real quick want to shout out flamingos in the tree because, yeah, I would say 75 of the time when I go to my mom's place and she's blasting music, flamingos in the tree, come on. So she's a fan. So the big headliner for Saturday was Gary Clark Jr.

Clark:

Yeah, we saw him in 2016?

Sunny:

I didn't At Outside Lands, I went somewhere else.

Vanessa:

He was at Outside Lands?

Clark:

Yeah,

Sunny:

when he was like Wasted.

Clark:

I actually I think I disagree with what I thought before of, because I thought he was drunk when we first saw him. Because literally he played incredibly sang fine and then when he talked in between every song like literally unintelligible.

Vanessa:

Oh, wow.

Clark:

Right, but it seems like he was really working on that though, too. He put his guitar down and was just sang a couple songs. It was like really trying to connect with the crowd.

Vanessa:

So was he wasted or not when you saw him before?

Clark:

I don't think he was, I think he just was like

Sunny:

I was gonna say

Vanessa:

well, is that worse or better?

Sunny:

well, I was gonna say then we owe him a huge apology because we've been spreading around that he's an alcoholic, basically by saying he was wasted on stage and Outside Lands.

Clark:

I think every time we've talked about that, we've been like, I think that's what it was.

Sunny:

We were never confident.

Clark:

No,

Vanessa:

I'm not going to lie, I'd never heard any of his songs.

Sunny:

Yeah, but.

Vanessa:

I did listen to a few before and I did like them.

Sunny:

I was just a little underwhelmed by him, to be honest.

Clark:

Yeah,

Sunny:

it's nothing about his musicianship,

Vanessa:

it's just not your cup of tea.

Clark:

He's like a very straight ahead rock lead player,

Sunny:

not my cup of tea,

Clark:

and that's what I would say. It's so guitar heavy.

Clark:

And that's not necessarily what we gravitate towards.

Vanessa:

Your mom had also said the same thing. I remember asking her the next day how she thought how he was, and she was like he's not my favorite.

Vanessa:

He's good.

Sunny:

Oh, and you know who also doesn't like him is my dad,

Vanessa:

Really?

Sunny:

He's not a fan either,

Sunny:

so maybe

Vanessa:

But your cousin Nikki is a huge fan.

Sunny:

Yeah, okay

Sunny:

, okay.

Clark:

Yes, but she's also into much harder music as a whole,

Vanessa:

right, yeah.

Clark:

That's Saturday, saturday.

Sunny:

Saturday,

Vanessa:

Sunday actually, Ed came with us too,

Sunny:

yeah.

Clark:

Because y'all came back to the hotel on Saturday night.

Vanessa:

Oh yeah, we came back and spent the night with you guys at the hotel Sunday.

Sunny:

We had a sleep over

Vanessa:

so that way we could wake up and have breakfast with you guys there

Sunny:

Hotel breakfast.

Sunny:

So day two

Vanessa:

First people we saw was Latin Jazz Youth Ensemble.

Sunny:

Yes,

Vanessa:

you guys Ubered there and Ed and I rode our bikes and scootered there.

Clark:

Yes,

Sunny:

oh, yeah, yeah, yeah,

Clark:

it was actually Mission Delirium.

Vanessa:

Oh, who you saw first.

Clark:

Yeah, because they were already playing on the main stage

Vanessa:

oh on the main stage.

Clark:

They're like a big marching band from Mission in San Francisco. They were out in the crowd.

Vanessa:

I think we went and got food right away, oh.

Clark:

I think y'all did,

Vanessa:

we went straight to get food, so maybe that's where we were watching them a little bit. And then, once we got our food, we went straight to the Latin.

Vanessa:

Jazz thing.

Clark:

Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Vanessa:

So I was focused on food

Sunny:

priorities,

Clark:

that what we did end up seeing together that the latin jazz youth ensemble, like a bay area based group of young musicians playing really classic latin tunes from different countries and stuff. So that was that was fun, especially as vanessa and I are spanish speakers. They played maybe two like slightly slower songs. It's like, like tragic love songs and I'm like 15, 16 year old.

Clark:

singing these lyrics is so funny, you know, it's like, it's like these like really heart wrenching.

Sunny:

Tell us how you feel.

Clark:

Ya se fue you know like singing about how they left and stuff. You're like, don't worry, there's plenty of fish at the sea. You're 15.

Clark:

You know it's fine.

Vanessa:

Yeah, they were really good. Thee Sinseers was next, which your mom loves

Sunny:

yeah,

Vanessa:

she kept being like they're from la

Sunny:

I know them.

Vanessa:

Yeah,

Sunny:

they're like a chicano kind of east la sound right?

Clark:

yeah,

Clark:

I mean I don't think I know enough about chicano stuff to to necessarily that, but I mean they had a horn section.

Sunny:

It's called Low Rider Oldies.

Vanessa:

Low Rider.

Vanessa:

Oldies.

Sunny:

The official term

Vanessa:

we all went to go do. Oh no, it was Never mind, I just jumped two artists I was going to talk about. IrieFuse.

Clark:

Oh, the next one I had was Sister Nancy.

Vanessa:

Oh, Sister Nancy was sick

Clark:

she was a dynamo.

Vanessa:

We saw Sister Nancy far away at Cali Vibes in 2022 maybe, and we were like so excited for her, but we were so far away so it was really cool to see her here in VIP super close. She was getting it on stage, she was moving, she was going dancing, shaking her hips.

Clark:

Sister nancy

Vanessa:

still got it. I just love how much she says her own name

Clark:

yes

Vanessa:

but I also just love that they had like a good reggae representation.

Clark:

Yeah

Sunny:

, I remember feeling really tired on sunday and then when Sister Nancy started I was just like, yes, thank you, bring the energy.

Clark:

Yeah,

Sunny:

you know.

Vanessa:

She brought it.

Clark:

And then in the reggae world, you and Ed went over and saw IrieFuse.

Vanessa:

No, we all went to Silent Disco.

Clark:

Oh yeah.

Vanessa:

And when we were at Silent Disco we heard them from the silent disco and you and I went over there for a little bit

Clark:

yeah, yeah

Vanessa:

and we heard like one song and I was like damn, I wish we were listening the whole time

Sunny:

oh yeah, they were good?

Vanessa:

they were really good yeah,

Sunny:

so then um, after sister nancy on the main stage is monophonics

Vanessa:

I thought they sounded really good.

Vanessa:

The guy the main singer he reminded me of Remember we went and saw JJ Gray and the MoFro. He gave me the same kind of vibe as that guy, very uplifting, and he was on the piano.

Clark:

Soul music. There was an incredible amount of soul music representation for the whole weekend.

Sunny:

For all the white people. Oh yeah, there was this little kid that we met who was just a huge monophonics fan. What did

Sunny:

he say Vanessa?

Vanessa:

it was so cute. He said monophonics is the best music, or something like that so cute.

Sunny:

He was like four.

Clark:

Yeah, that was awesome.

Clark:

Start 'em young.

Vanessa:

Good job, mom and dad.

Clark:

Start 'em young parents.

Sunny:

Yeah, so sweet.

Clark:

All the parents and kids that we chatted with were super sweet. The community feeling of the festival was ever present.

Sunny:

Yeah,

Clark:

throughout

Sunny:

they had art stations with clay and coloring and watercolors.

Vanessa:

Flower crown making.

Sunny:

Yeah, yeah.

Vanessa:

Tie dye.

Clark:

And then the closing act for the festival.

Sunny:

Was Nile Rodgers and Chic yeah.

Clark:

And how much time you want

Sunny:

Nile Rodgers and Chic, damn it.

Sunny:

Sorry, nile Rodgers and Chic. Nile Rodgers is a huge name in the industry. He's a guitar player. Most recently, he's been known for playing with Pharrell and Daft Punk in.

Clark:

Get Lucky,

Sunny:

get Lucky.

Sunny:

How could I forget Jesus?

Clark:

He wrote I think like half of that album with Daft Punk.

Sunny:

Oh, I didn't know that,

Clark:

that it comes off of. Yeah, yeah,

Sunny:

wow,

Clark:

He's just in there.

Sunny:

On top of that, he's produced and played guitar for Madonna, for Diana Ross, for

Vanessa:

Beyonce

Vanessa:

he freaking wrote that one song.

Clark:

Cuff or whatever, yeah

Sunny:

uh

Clark:

yeah, cuff it

Vanessa:

I have no idea what it's called, but yeah, that one of the main ones it's,

Sunny:

I trust you, clarky.

Sunny:

It's called cuff

Clark:

I was very, I was pretty confident when I said cuff it

Vanessa:

all right, cut all this out then

Clark:

Mali

Vanessa:

yeah, he played that and I he played that and I was like shit, no way.

Sunny:

Yeah

Vanessa:

he was the most fun of the whole weekend for me

Clark:

yeah,

Sunny:

for all of us

Vanessa:

everyone, yeah I totally remember seeing them at Coachella now,

Sunny:

oh cool, they've got big hits like um,

Clark:

le Freak,

Sunny:

duh, guys, I just

Vanessa:

Our brains aren't working well today.

Sunny:

Take over.

Clark:

Then a lot of those songs got used in hip hop that he then referenced Rapper's Delight.

Vanessa:

I love that he played Rapper's Delight and we got to sing that at the end. But, I remember also doing that at Coachella, yeah, yeah.

Sunny:

It was mine and Vanessa's time to shine.

Vanessa:

Yeah,

Sunny:

For some reason we know all of the words to the short version of that song.

Vanessa:

Since we were nine.

Clark:

Will we get a copyright strike if y'all just?

Clark:

I just give you a click track and y'all just do the whole thing

Vanessa:

instead of hit.

Sunny:

Don't tempt us

Vanessa:

there's videos of us out there, I think.

Clark:

Oh yeah, like

Vanessa:

we'll post one

Clark:

screaming it at a bar

Vanessa:

or at music festivals, I feel like it's happened to us many times where we've been at music festivals and they'll play it and then we just start rapping.

Sunny:

Yeah.

Sunny:

Everybody. Look at us.

Vanessa:

Look at us right now.

Sunny:

Nile Rodgers at one point he was like you guys look like an educated crowd. He means white.

Vanessa:

AKA, it's bright in here. Yeah yeah, I think that was Ed's favorite too. He was like I loved being so close. We were like front row. Yeah, I was like I loved being so close for like such an awesome band

Sunny:

yeah, I remember he said that,

Vanessa:

yeah

Clark:

that part of the vip was so incredible.

Clark:

Was you know, having the? The sun deck is what they call that, that old bar, which is super cool? We got little like hors d'oeuvres, hors d'oeuvres, yeah, yeah. And then the hop monk food truck was in there too.

Vanessa:

That was the Korean barbecue bowl place.

Clark:

And those chili fries that we got too.

Vanessa:

I had the momos. Is that what?

Vanessa:

they're called.

Vanessa:

Momos and the cochinita food truck on Saturday. Oh my God, that was so good. Yeah, and the momos.

Clark:

Yeah, I never had those

Vanessa:

Nepalese dumplings

Clark:

Well, the momos I'd never had the, uh, the salbutes, salbutes,

Vanessa:

oh, from cochinita

Clark:

, yeah I never had something like that, where it's almost like it's not uh pupusa, it's like a

Vanessa:

it's like a handmade tortilla, but like fried.

Clark:

Yeah.

Vanessa:

Yeah, it's so good.

Clark:

It kind of reminded me almost, um, is it a sope that I'm thinking?

Clark:

of

Vanessa:

yeah, yeah, it's a fried sope, basically,

Clark:

yeah,

Vanessa:

yes, those are so good

Clark:

and I was and I was like yo, this is this smacks like it's so good.

Vanessa:

Yeah, those, those were so good, delicious

Clark:

every bit of food we had was great the smash burger was fantastic too

Vanessa:

, dude that smash burger was probably

Clark:

respectable bird

Vanessa:

up there with one of the best burgers I've ever had. It was so good.

Clark:

And then Sunny and I got a burger from that same food truck, from Respectable Bird, and they had Calamansi iced tea.

Sunny:

Oh yeah,

Clark:

which Calamansi is like a type of citrus, so it was like kind of an Arnold Palmer iced tea.

Vanessa:

That iced tea was really good, so good, we had the ice cream too.

Vanessa:

That jim recommended that was some good, freaking creamy ice cream.

Clark:

That's the only food thing we didn't get.

Clark:

We, yeah, we missed and we just were like kicking ourselves.

Vanessa:

It was so good.

Sunny:

Well, glad you got to try it

Clark:

yeah did y'all have any uh beer you'd never had before you and ed

Vanessa:

we got wine

Clark:

oh yeah

Vanessa:

um, there was a beer that Ed had

Clark:

. That little pop-up thing. They had right, the little bar that you could like spin with the can and stuff.

Vanessa:

Oh, montauki, coltsnacks, yeah, coltsnacks, coltsnacks.

Clark:

I was like I know there's one, yeah.

Vanessa:

They had that same Yeehaw Inn at Bonnaroo.

Clark:

Oh cool,

Vanessa:

the exact same thing. That's fun yeah.

Clark:

One of the breweries in the beer hall. James and I went and got a beer together and one of the breweries made a DILF and a MILF.

Sunny:

Oh yes.

Clark:

Like two different beers for the festival. Well, I don't know. I think they made them for their own thing, but it was so perfect.

Clark:

It was like family festival yeah you're all.

Clark:

It's like you have a dilf and a milf lager and pale ale or whatever. I'm like that's so funny, so perfect.

Clark:

Yeah, that's, that's great

Vanessa:

what I love the most about this festival was that it was not crowded and it was so chill like I remember thinking I freaking wish every festival we went to was this chill. Yeah, james was like. Yeah, like green day is just playing up there right now and it's like it's so chill that would be amazing.

Clark:

That would be incredible. Yeah, and when we say that, that doesn't mean it was like empty no, just means it was the perfect amount of space

Vanessa:

and just the vibes too it wasn't like drunk and fucked up people walking around ever you know it was like conscious families like aware of their surroundings.

Vanessa:

Like you know, a nice crowd. I just I wish every festival was chill like that.

Clark:

Yeah.

Vanessa:

So if you get the chance to next year, definitely you want to check out Mill Valley Music Festival.

Clark:

Yes,

Vanessa:

Vanessa:

corner

Sunny:

july 24th to the 27th, we have red ants pants festival. It's in white sulfur springs montana. It's what are you laughing at?

Clark:

what? What's so funny?

Clark:

Red Ants Pants

Sunny:

Did I say something funny it's 100% homegrown, it's volunteer driven and it's a community of 900 people, so I know right, it's so small. One of the major points of this festival is to celebrate rural communities. It's also a nonprofit and they develop and expand leadership roles for women and preserve and support family farms and ranches.

Clark:

That's cool.

Sunny:

Headliners are Jillian Welch and David Rawlings, steve Earle and Reckless Kelly and St Paul and the Broken Bones.

Clark:

Awesome.

Sunny:

Other acts are Britney, Spencer and Foreshadow. July 31st to August 3rd we have Soundhaven Music and Arts Festival at Jaceland in Tracy City, Tennessee. It's all bass music. There's four unique and captivating stages with incredible laser shows.

Sunny:

They also have live visionary artists. The headliners are Alex Perez, shades and Truth. Other artists are Cannabliss and Furtha. The next one, august 9th and August 10th, we have the 36th Annual Long Beach Jazz Festival. It's in Long Beach, california. It's classic R&B to hot summer night jazz, which I've never heard of that referred to as a genre, but I feel like I can hear it in my head.

Vanessa:

Yeah.

Sunny:

Yeah, lots of saxophone.

Sunny:

They have two separate stages on a waterfront setting. Great selection of food and art. Headliners are Marcus Miller and Sheila E. Bay Area represent.

Sunny:

Yes.

Sunny:
